Cruzers vs Lake Hills

CRUZERS versus LAKE HILLS

ARRIVAL TIME: 6:35AM-6:50AM

CRUZER WARM-UP: 6:55 AM

START TIME: 8:00 AM

SEATING: You’ll need to bring your own chairs and blankets to make yourself comfortable. Our team will be seated around the Rec Pool with each group at a different set of picnic tables. Please find your age group and make sure you are seated close to them so the Age Group Parents are not hunting your children down in order for them to swim.

PLEASE NOTE: The Rec Pool is CLOSED during the swim meet. Swimmers who get in the rec pool run the risk of being asked to leave the meet. Thank you for your help in making sure your swimmers stay out of the rec pool.

CONCESSION STAND: All concessions will be cash or Lost Creek account purchase. Starting at 6:45 AM there will be concessions open on the upper deck. Breakfast tacos, danishes, bagels, and other breakfast foods along with coffee and fruit juices will be available until 10:00 AM. At 10:00 the concessions will switch to lunch service and there will be hot dogs, burgers, chicken sandwiches, cookies, chips, Gatorade, soda, bottled water and other snacks. PLEASE NOTE: AHSL Rules state that no parent that is volunteering may consume alcohol before or during the course of the meet, and must be alcohol-free during the duration of their meet duties.

Our hospitality volunteers will make sure that all the stationary volunteers have cups of cold water and/or lemonade. These folks are timers, computer helpers, stroke judges, ready bench, and ribbon volunteers. This station is for volunteers only.

Volunteer Check-In: When you arrive at the swim meet, please find the volunteer check-in sheet in the seating area for the Cruzers, and make sure you sign in so you will get credit for completing the job. Also, make sure you make a nametag for yourself to insure that parents can identify you and the job you are there to do.

TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL SWIM MEET:

*Most of all… PLEASE have fun! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me either by e-mail or phone. In case of inclement weather, please watch for e-mails and news announcements from me on the morning of the meet.

*Arrive On Time for the Meet: Arrive with plenty of time to participate in the team warm-up. For this meet please plan to arrive no later than 3:30 PM.

*Communicate With Age-Group Parents: Age group parents are responsible for getting your child to they designated events. They check in all the swimmers and scratch the no-shows 30 minutes prior to the meet.

*If you know you are going to be late to the meet, you MUST communicate that to either the coaches or me to ensure that you swimmer is not scratched from all of their events.

*Once you arrive you will need to check in with your age group parent BEFORE going to warm-up.

*The swimmers are expected to stay with their age-group parent in the designated area until their events are complete and a parent is available to watch them.

*Always inform the age group parent when you are taking your child so they can be crossed off of the list. There is nothing worse than a panicked search of the grounds for a swimmer that has left with their parent!

*Keep Swimmers Occupied During the Meet: Swim meets are notorious for "Hurry up and Wait"! There is a lot of down time between events and your swimmer will need to stay occupied in order to make it possible for the age-group parent to do their job effectively and for your swimmer to stay out of trouble. Examples of good time fillers are

*Drawing paper, coloring books, pencils, and crayons

*Action Figures

*Cards

*Games

*Books

*An iPod with books on tape or music

*Handheld video games such as a DS or psp

*Portable DVD player with movies

*Clean Up After The Meet:

*Be sure you gather all of your belongings and clean up all of your trash.

*Please label EVERYTHING! We are always left with a pile of items that were left behind. If you did happen to leave something behind, look for it in the "Lost and Found" bin at the Lost Creek pool during the week.
